Recently I've noticed a tendency which frankly really ticks look me off. My statement is that more and more project managers are becoming hyper risk-averse and demonstrating an unwillingness to simply accept accountability for the jobs they manage. One tell-tale sign which I've observed is the usage of "matrixed" organization charts. Inside matrixed organization charts, the project team is portrayed using different types of team leads shown top to bottom and horizontally on the organization chart. With a matrixed organization, team members could have a "solid line" confirming relationship to one supervisor and a "dotted line" reporting relationship to one or more managers.
